October Fun

October found us in Los Angeles with a stop at Disneyland.

We then drove up to Carmel and San Francisco.......

Carmel-where we spent the afternoon going through wonderful little shops and then going down to the beach. It was really beautiful and the water on the toes was so very cold.

San Francisco-where we spent time at Fishermans Wharf and had a wonderful lunch while being entertained by the sealions.

September ramblings

Japanese Anime is a favorite of Candace's. Every year she, and several of her friends, go to two different anime conventions. One in the Spring in Seattle called Sakura-Con and the other in Portland in the Fall called Kumoricon. She and two of her girl friends spend weeks working on costumes. Some of their outfits are pretty fabulous and others....well, they are just plain strange.

This year we will miss all the last minute preparations for the anime convention in Seattle which takes place April 10th-12th 2009 due to the fact that she has moved into a small victorian style house in Bellingham in order to finish her degree at Western Washington University. As you can see this is the disaster that she created while preparing to move out:

A new adventure

This summer has been full of changes for our family and the changes will continue into the fall. We decided that doing a blog would be a fun way for us to share family experiences with friends and extended family.



We hope you enjoy and here is a quick update on what is going on with the girls.


Our oldest daughter is getting ready to transfer up to Western Washington University where she will study Sociology and is thinking of getting a minor in Japanese. She will be a junior and will be sharing a house with four other friends. It is an exciting time for these young adults. Our middle daughter continues to work, currently she is the lead sales person for her store but is moving up to assistant manager. Our youngest will be starting her Senior year of High school is still figure skating and just celebrated her 17th Birthday.
